How to change a alternator on a 1999 gmc jimmy?

Disconnect pos. battery cable. Release belt idler tensioner pulley by wrench, socket or sometimes they have a square hole that you put a 3/8%26quot; or 1/2%26quot; ratchet or breaker bar in. The idler tensioner is spring loaded and will release the belt if you go one way or the other. Pull belt off of alt. pulley (it may slip off some other pulleys too). Simply disconnect the alt. connections and swap out. The belt will need to be back on all pulleys by releasing the tension on idler pulley again. Slide belt over alt pulley last since it's usually at the top and is a smaller pulley than others.reconnect battery. How to change a alternator on a 1999 gmc jimmy?
ok first do you have a repair manual for the vehicle? if not you can go to the parts store and find one for about $20, well worth the money, anyway first dissconect the positive battery terminal, now take the tension off the serpentine belt and remove from altenator, now remove all electric conections, and now its time to remove all the bolts, this should do it , and dont forget that repair book its well worth the money. How to change a alternator on a 1999 gmc jimmy?
