It really depends on what kinda car/truck you have, and how well the job was.
If hes you bud then take him out to eat, buy him/her a case of beer, coke (drinking kind), whatever.
Just know the friend thing can go south the min. the job fails.
Just a round figure most places charge about $100.00 to $150.00 plus the part.
If you want to pay cash write a check for $40.00 I say Check beacuse if his/her job burns down your car and the friend thing gets ugly and court happens you will have proof they did the work as evidance of the cashed check.
